Cemetery Extension Land swap
As you may be aware, North Tawton own a parcel of land behind the current cemetery, which is set aside for a cemetery extension. The planning permission on the current parcel of land has now expired, therefore, before we can use the ‘extension’ for burials, we must re-apply for planning permission.
The owners of the entire field behind the current cemetery/extension area, have approached North Tawton Town Council with an offer for a land swap.
If you refer to the map via the link, the area currently shaded orange stripes is owned by North Tawton Town Council, and the landowners are offering twice as much land in exchange – shaded green stripes, which immediately abuts Taylors Field, at no cost to the council or tax payers.
The offer is conditional that the covenants associated to each piece of land are swapped without amendment, therefore, the area shaded green can only be used for a cemetery and the area shaded red can never be built upon.
If you wish to comment, please email or write to the Council by Friday 27th May. Your comments will be treated with the utmost confidence and your details will not be shared or used for any other purpose
If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
