Lakeway Ecological Consultancy can carry out all the ecology surveys and produce the wildlife reports needed for your planning application. We are able to work with you on any project, providing peace of mind that all your ecological needs are met. Our principal ecologist has a specialist interest in mitigation schemes for clients on heritage buildings and unusual and complex sites.

As a small consultancy, we are big enough to resource your project and issue reports quickly, but pride ourselves on providing a friendly and personal service. So if you have been asked to provide bat or dormouse surveys, or other wildlife information for a planning application get in touch. We can also provide advice on habitat management.

Our eco-conscious shop based at 6 Market Street, North Tawton EX20 2ET, sells good quality pre-loved baby, toddler, children’s clothing, shoes and accessories for ages 0-13 years.

We also have a fabulous range of toys, games, books, DVDs, school uniform, soft toys and baby equipment in store. This Community Interest Company not only raises money for 12 local Primary Schools, but is helping to save the planet by reducing waste and carbon emissions too!

We have now extended our service to an online store, where you can purchase goods online for home delivery or in-store pick up.

We are located in North Street.  Our outdoor bowls season begins in late April and we close the green in mid-September.   We enter several leagues (Men’s, Ladies, and Mixed), and play ‘friendly’ matches around the county every week.  As a member you can choose to play as little or as much as suits you.

During the winter we offer short mat bowling in the clubhouse.

If you're looking for a chance to keep active and socialise with people in your community, then bowls is for you. 

Bowls is played for the challenge and competition, personal enjoyment, activity, and for social interaction.

Bowls is a great game for people of all ages: it keeps you active; helps improve muscle strength (arm, shoulder, leg muscles), flexibility and endurance; helps improve co-ordination and concentration and problem-solving skills; gets you out and about and meeting people.

Initially, for a ‘try it’ session, all you need is some flat soled shoes.  Spare bowls are available at the Club.   If you choose to join, membership for novice bowlers in their first year is ‘half-price’ at £35.00 per year for outdoor bowling and/or £15.00 for indoor short mat bowling.

When you begin to play matches you will need a club top.  When you become more involved you will want to buy your own bowls, clothing, waterproofs etc.

Our 4 cottages are just outside NorthTawton with views over Dartmoor. We sleep 24 in total which works well for family or multi generational groups. We have one 1 bed cottage, one 3 bed and two which have 4 bedrooms.
